Frozen-at-Sea Red Fish

Redfish or Deepwater Redfish (Sebastes mentella) is caught primarily in the Irminger Sea, the international areas around Jean Mayen, and the Barents Sea. The Redfish (Sebastes mentella) resides at 300-1000 m below the sea surface.

The redfish is J-cut, packed in 6 kg or 22 kg block cartons and frozen, three 6 kg blocks are paced in a master carton. The fish is most frequently graded in the following sizes: 100 – 200 g, 200–300 g, 300–500 g and 500–700 g, and the following qualities: A, B, or C.
