Frozen-at-Sea
Steps are taken at every juncture of the fishing process to ensure that JFK’s frozen-at-sea products are as fresh as possible. Nets are towed for a short period of time to prevent damage to the fish. When the trawl comes on deck, the live fish are immediately put into tanks for further processing. Frozen-at-sea has been called “fresher than fresh,” because within four hours from leaving the sea fish are already processed and frozen.
