JFK - Fish from the North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean

Frozen-at-Sea

Steps are taken at every juncture of the fishing process to ensure that JFK’s frozen-at-sea products are as fresh as possible. Nets are towed for a short period of time to prevent damage to the fish. When the trawl comes on deck, the fish are still alive and are immediately put into tanks for further processing. Frozen-at-sea has been called “fresher than fresh,” because within four hours from leaving the sea fish are already processed and frozen.
